The Vice Prefect Wang Feng and others of Feng-yang Prefecture, a total of 119 persons, were transferred to positions as prefectural, subprefectural and county officials in Jiao-zhi. At the time, the Auxiliary Ministry of Personnel had memorialized that capital and other officials, who had earlier been sentenced to punishment for offences but had absconded, had been pardoned and, when the Ren-zong Emperor came to the throne (1424) he had ordered that they be appointed to posts in Jiao-zhi. At this time, Feng and the others, who had committed similar offences, requested that, in accordance with the precedent, they be transferred and employed. This request was approved.
