Cheng-hua: Year 18, Month 4, Day 23
10 May 1482
The Messenger Wang Mian of the Messenger Office was sent to prison in the Embroidered-Uniform Guard. Previously, Mian had been ordered to go to Guang-xi and other places to examine the Annam situation. On his return, he advised: "Li Hao, the king of Annam, has long been disloyal in heart. He has arrogated a reign title to himself and dared to engage in military expeditions against others. It is requested that troops be sent to punish his crimes." The memorial was sent to the Ministry of War, which held: "Mian is only hoping to be promoted and employed. His proposal will give rise to border troubles. He should be punished." This was approved.
