[Dao] Feng-lu, who had been sent by his uncle Dao Kan, native chieftain of Che-li, presented elephants and native products. It was Imperially commanded that a suit of clothing and 10 ding of paper money be conferred upon Feng-lu. Subsequently, nine bolts of patterned fine silks interwoven with gold thread and a similar amount of other silks were conferred upon Dao Kan and Dao Feng-lu. These conferrals were made as this was the first time they had offered tribute and come to Court.
