The Grand Preceptor Tao-bao Jia-zhi who had been sent by the country of Champa, presented a gold memorial and offered as tribute rhinoceros horn, fan slaves and cloth. The Emperor spoke to the Ministry of Rites, saying: "These are all rebellious subjects. They are not to be received!" Previously, the Champa minister Ge-sheng had killed the king and established himself as ruler. It was thus that the Emperor ordered that they be refused.
