Hong-wu: Year 27, Month 5, Day 16
14 Jun 1394
The minister Ruan Jun and others, who had been sent by Annam, presented a memorial and offered tribute of local products after having come through Guang-dong. The Emperor sent orders to the officials of the Ministry of Rites, saying: "Annam rebelled and killed its ruler. It is not permitted to come to Court to offer tribute. I have already instructed the Guang-xi Provincial Administration Office not to receive their envoys. Now, they have come through Guang-dong. The officials have, without requesting orders, acted without authority in receiving these envoys. Hastily send someone to investigate and punish them." In addition, the tribute was refused rather than received.
