The Eunuch Director Zheng He and others memorialized: "We have received Imperial orders to restore the Nan-jing Palace. Gold foil should be used for this. It is requested that the offices be ordered to purchase the foil." It was ordered that the Imperial Treasury provide paper money and that the gold-foil be purchased at current prices, so that the people would not suffer.
