Jia-jing: Year 8, Month 2, Day 9
18 Mar 1529
The Ministry of War and the Censorate re-submitted a memorial from the Yun-nan Regional Inspecting Censor Shen Jiao, noting appropriate arrangements as follows: "1. Although the Meng-mi native houseman Si Zhen demonstrated loyalty and has been rewarded, he still presumes on his strength and is changeable. He is, in the end, unpredictable. Teng-chong, Gan-yai and such places should be instructed to make further defence preparations......6. In recent years, evil persons have gone far into the yi haunts, and instigated people there to submit legal plaints, false claims and annoying memorials. The law officers should be ordered to fully investigate this matter and strictly prohibit and punish such activities." An Imperial order was issued requiring that all these matters be handled as proposed.
