The attendant minister Ya-lie Mai Shang-geng and others who had been sent by Ba-la-wu, the king of the country of Java, came to Court and offered tribute of local products. A banquet as well as biao-li of variegated silks, suits of ramie-silk clothing and other goods were conferred upon them. It was also ordered that Shang-geng and the others take Imperial orders and biao-li of variegated silks to confer, on their return, on their king and his consort. Shang-geng and the others requested that they be rewarded with headwear and belts.
