Xu Qi, Minister of War in Nan-jing, died. Qi (zi Liang-yu) had his origins in Qian-tang County, Zhe-jiang...In the sixth year of the Xuan-de reign (1431-32), as Li Li of Annam had not sent tribute to Court, Qi was promoted to commissioner of the right in the Office of Transmission and sent to investigate Li's crime. When Qi arrived, he castigated Li, who was awed into submission and thus sent an envoy to offer tribute. When Qi returned, he was promoted to vice minister of the right in the Nan-jing Ministry of War...
