For their achievements in capturing and eliminating the bandit leader Guo Ming and others of Lin-zhang and other haunts in Chao-zhou Prefecture, Guang-dong, the Regional Commander Guo Cheng, the Defence Circuit Assistant Commissioner Yang Zhi and the Army-inspecting Vice Commissioner Jiang Yi-lin were rewarded with silver in differing quantities.... At this time, the Supreme Commander Liu Tao memorialized victory, saying: "The pacified civilian Lin Dao-qian and others truly obeyed orders. They should be allowed to redeem their crimes." The Emperor rewarded Cheng and the others and ordered that the censors investigate Dao-qian's achievements and memorialize advice...
