Long-qing: Year 6, Month Intercalary 2, Day 21
3 Apr 1572
The Guang-dong/Guang-xi Military Superintendent and Grand Coordinator Yin Zheng-mao and others proposed that the Guang-dong/Guang-xi regional commander post not be abolished. They memorialized: "The reason the post of Guang-xi regional commander was established was to control Annam and to restrain the native officials. It is not just a post to deal with the petty Yao and Zhuang. This is an old system established by the Imperial ancestors. How can its abolition be proposed just to make some minor savings? This will harm the state's dignity. It should never be abolished..." The Ministry of War re-submitted the request. It was Imperially approved.
