Tian-shun: Year 2, Month 6, Day 16

It was ordered that San-bao-li-dai, the son of Dao Geng-meng, the deceased pacification superintendent of the Che-li Pacification Superintendency inherit his father's position. Previously, when Dao Geng-meng died, San-bao-li-dai followed his mother, surnamed Jin, when she re-married. The chieftain Dao Si-nong then took control of the region of Che-li. When Si-nong died, his son Ba-xian inherited the post. When Ba-xian died, the various yi wanted San-bao-li-dao to succeed him. However, Ba-xian's younger brother Ban-ya Zhong* and others would not accord and subsequently they raised troops and rebelled. The Court ordered officials from the three offices to go and pacify them and investigate the situation. It was in accordance with their investigation that this order was issued.
*The text erroneously gives "wei" (惟) for "ya" (雅)
