Tian-shun: Year 4, Month 7, Day 10
27 Jul 1460
The Ministry of Rites memorialized: "The Annam attendant ministers Cheng Leng and Fan Huang have stated: `Our country's king Li Jun drowned while swimming in a lake. We have already received the Court's great sympathy and officials were ordered to come and offer official sacrifices. The funeral ceremonies are now finished. However, we have recently heard that the Court wants to send further officials to carry out mourning ceremonies. We humbly beg that this mourning be foregone'." The Emperor instructed the Ministry of Rites noting that the rites did not require mourning for drowned persons and that as the envoys had requested that it be foregone, their request was to be approved.
