The Ministry of Rites memorialized: "The various sections under this ministry as well as senior officials in the Censorate and officials versed in translation have examined the young men studying fan scripts in the Translators Institute under the Han-lin Academy. Cai Hui and others, a total of 10 persons were placed in the first division. They should be appointed as translation officers. Cai Zhen and others, a total of six persons, were placed in the second division. They should study for another two years and then be re-examined. Fu Tai and another, a total of two persons, were placed in the third division. They should study for another three years and then should be re-examined, but should not receive a grain salary during this period. Zhang Ang and others, a total of three persons, did not rate and they should be demoted to commoners. This was approved.
