Previously, the Guang-dong forces had repeatedly inflicted damage on the Japanese [pirates]. However, the Dan pirate Liang Ben-hao collected forces and joined together with Japanese to engage in burning and looting of county towns. The pernicious acts extended for a long period of time. The Supreme Commander and Minister Chen Rui then attacked and defeated him, beheading Ben-hao. Subsequently, over 1,600 Japanese who had been captured were executed and over 200 Japanese ships and Dan boats were scuttled. This completely eliminated the scourge....
