In Yun-nan, the Ava-Burma chieftain had waged an attack, but the government troops had achieved success in blocking him. It was ordered that the troops be liberally rewarded. It was also proposed that in the Autumn or Winter an envoy be sent to proclaim instructions to Niu-da-la of Siam requiring him to engage in a pincer attack. These arrangements were made in accordance with a request by the grand defender and the Grand Coordinator Wu Ding.
