The salaries of the Guang-dong Maritime Patrol Circuit Assistant Regional Commander Hu Zhen and others were suspended and they were required to carry their crimes until they killed the bandits. Ding Qi-yun, the Qing-lan battalion commander responsible for defence against Japanese pirates, was sent to the regional inspecting censor for investigation. These actions were ordered as Lin Feng had suddenly attacked Qing-lan Port, come ashore and engaged in pillage.
