The Ministry of War re-submitted a memorial by Zhang Ming-gang, the supreme commander of Guang-dong/ Guang-xi: "Jiao yi who were sailing the seas drifted into the inner territory. The impeached former Guang-dong Maritime Commandant Xia Shi-chang should be removed from his post and sent back to his guard. It is also requested that Imperial orders of severe castigation be sent to the Annam Commander Li Wei-xin requiring him to prohibit the various yi from sailing into the guarded areas as has occurred previously." An Imperial order was issued castigating Li Wei-xin, enquiring why he had allowed yi to repeatedly infringe the inner territory, and ordering that in future he strictly implement restraints so as to prevent them violating again.
