Wan-li: Year 48, Month 4, Day 24
25 May 1620
Wang Ming-xuan, regional inspector of Guang-dong, memorialized: "The fugitive bandits in the seas off Guang-dong include Xu Bin-lao, Zhong Da-fan and Yu San-lao, who are remnant members of Yuan Jin's gang. They maraud around the islands and then come together at a call to engage in plunder. They wander among Bai-sha, Hu-men, Guang-hai and Lian-tou, and the merchants suffer from their poisonous activities. The supreme commander has already ordered his forces to scout for and apprehend them in the east and the west of the seas. Those officials who realized achievements in capturing bandits and those who were defeated at Jie-shi should be rewarded and punished as appropriate." The memorial was sent to the Ministry of War.
