As the Cheng-shan Marquis Wang Tong and others had memorialized that the rebellious bandits of Jiao-zhi were running wild, it was ordered that the An-yuan Marquis Liu Sheng, the Grand Mentor of the Heir Apparent, take on the seal of "Deputy General for Subduing the Lu" and take up the post of regional commander. Also, the Bao-ding Earl Liang Ming was to take up the post of deputy regional commander of the left and the Commissioner-in-chief Cui Ju was to take up the post of assistant regional commander of the right. They were to lead the Imperial army in proceeding on expedition to Jiao-zhi and were to join with the cavalry forces of the Qian-guo Duke Mu Sheng and others in eliminating the man bandits. All of the government troops they led, as well as the government troops, native troops and native civilians under all guards in Jiao-zhi, were to be under their command.
