Xuan-de: Year 1, Month 3, Day 6
13 Apr 1426
The envoy Sha-na-wan-nuo-ye and others from the country of Bo-ni, took leave of the Court. The Emperor spoke to the officials of the Auxiliary Ministry of Rites, saying: "During the reign of the Tai-zong Emperor (1403-24), the father of Xia-wang, the king of the country of Bo-ni, brought his entire family to the Court. On his return journey, he died along the way and thus it was ordered that Xia-wang inherit the title. The Court treated him with great liberality and he demonstrated great loyalty and sincerity. Now, he has again sent an envoy to come from afar. This is very pleasing and liberal rewards should be conferred upon him." Thus, twice the normal quantity of patterned brocades, fine patterned silks interwoven with gold thread, variegated silks and silk gauzes as conferred upon other countries were conferred upon Xia-wang.
