Xuan-de: Year 1, Month 7, Day 10
12 Aug 1426
The interpreter Feng Ha-sa and others, who had been sent sent by Samudera and other countries, departed to return home. As he took leave of the Court, he advised that they lacked winter clothing to keep out the cold. The Emperor spoke to the Auxiliary Ministry of Rites, saying: "When people come from afar, they travel 10,000 li across the oceans. They should be shown special treatment and sympathy. You should always confer upon the chief and deputy foreign envoys a set of cotton-wadded clothing. Two sets of cotton clothing each as well as boots and socks should further be conferred upon the chieftains. Their attendants should also be given clothing to keep out the cold."
