Xuan-de: Year 2, Month 6, Day 6
1 Jul 1427
It was ordered that the Auxiliary Ministry of War appoint the Jiao-zhi troops Li Mao-xian, Ruan Zong-bao and Huang Tian-bao as company commanders, confer upon them headwear and belts, clothing and paper money, supply them with relay horses and send them to the An-yuan Marquis Liu Sheng for him to employ. At this time, Jiao-zhi had not memorialized reports for a long time. These three men had followed a side-road and secretly delivered a secret despatch that Chang River was surrounded and in desperate straits. This order was thus issued. In addition, Imperial orders were sent to Sheng and the Qian-guo Duke Mu Sheng requiring them to urgently relieve Chang River.
