It was ordered that the Assistant Regional Commissioners Huang Hong and Zhang Gui defend the regions of Long Subprefecture, Ping-xiang and Po-lei and that they be subject to the command of the Regional Commander and Commissioner-in-chief Shan Yun. Earlier, it had been ordered that the Regional Commander Xiao Shou defend Po-lei. At this time, Li Li had requested that the troops be rested, that the people be given peace and that a descendant of the Chen line be restored to the throne. Subsequently, it was ordered that Shou return to Gui-zhou for defence duties, and it was ordered that Hong and so on defend Long Subprefecture. Imperial orders were sent to Hong as follows: "You are loyal in your service of the Court, have put all your efforts into your border duties and have realized many achievements. I have been very pleased with this and thus have promoted you. It is now ordered that you take command of the native troops and, together with Zhang Gui, defend the regions of Long Subprefecture, Ping-xiang and Po-lei. You are to engage in patrolling defence (往來備禦) and shall be subject to the command of the Regional Commander Shan Yun. You must become increasingly loyal, take good care of the troops and people and be cautious but firm in your defence duties, so as to fulfil this important task assigned to you by the Court." Imperial orders were also sent to Shou, saying: "Previously, you minister, were ordered to lead the Imperial troops in defending the regions of Po-lei and Qiu-wen. Now, I have allowed Li Li's request that a descendant of the Chen line be restored and that the troops be rested and the people be given peace. The Assistant Regional Commissioners Huang Hong and Zhang Gui have been ordered to lead troops to defend Long Subprefecture and to engage in patrolling defence at Ping-xiang and Po-lei. You, minister, are to take the government troops under your command and return to Gui-zhou for defence duties."
