Imperial orders were sent to the Hu-guang Regional Military Commission, Provincial Administration Commission and Provincial Surveillance Commission as well as to the regional inspecting censor, noting that the government troops who had proceeded on expedition to Jiao-zhi, but had fled, were all pardoned their crimes. It was stated that they were all to return to their original guards and battalions within two months. Those who continued as fugitives and did not show themselves were, when captured, to be punished in accordance with military law.
