Ramie-silks, silk gauzes, thin silks and cotton cloth, as appropriate, were conferred upon the chieftain Zhao Ai and others who had been sent by Dao Ba-xian, a family member of the deceased pacification superintendent of Che-li in Yun-nan. It was also ordered that Ba-xian inherit his father's post. The Messenger Lu Xun was sent to confer upon him headwear and a belt as well as suits of clothing made from silk interwoven with gold thread, brocaded fine silks and silk gauzes.
