Yong-le: Year 11, Month 5, Day 14

Chen Ma-li and others, native-official assistant magistrates from 17 subprefectures and counties under Jiao-zhou Prefecture, Ruan Bi-gong and others, native-official vice magistrates from five subprefectures and counties under Bei River Prefecture, as well as 108 elders, came together to Court. They said that the people of Jiao-zhi had long been subject to great harm by the Li bandits and that they were grateful that the Imperial army had eliminated them, as thereby the people had obtained rest. They had thus come to Court to express gratitude for Imperial grace. Rewards were conferred upon all of them and then they were sent home.
