The Imperial army returned from the Western Ocean. The Emperor instructed the officials of the Auxiliary Ministry of Rites, as follows: "The officers and men have travelled across the ocean, traversed more than 100,000 li and passed through tens of countries. Their actions are meritorious and they should be rewarded." At this time, the regional commissioners were each rewarded with 20 ding of paper money, the guard commanders with 18 ding of paper money and the battalion and company commanders and guard judges with 16 ding. The navigators and others received 15 ding each, while the government troops received 13 ding each.
