Yong-le: Year 18, Month 9, Day 10
16 Oct 1420
The eunuch Hou Xian and others were sent as envoys to the country of Zhao-na-pu-er. At this time, the king of the country of Bengal had said that Yi-bu-la-jin, the king of the country of Zhao-na-pu-er, had used troops on several occasions to attack Bengal's territory. Thus, Xian and the others were sent with Imperial orders of instruction for them, so that they would both cultivate good relations with their neighbours and would each protect their own territory. The envoys were also to confer variegated silks upon the rulers. In addition, variegated silks were to be conferred on the chief of the Land of the Diamond Throne (金剛寶座之地)*, which was to be passed through.
