Five ding of paper money was conferred upon the families of all of the troops who were in Annam. The Emperor spoke to the officials of the Ministry of Rites, saying: "I reside deep in the palace but still suffer from the heat. I am always thinking of the troops who went to the South, carrying their lances deep into the territory and also having to suffer the miasmic vapours. The road is long and it is not possible to personally reward them. Therefore you are to give five ding of paper money to the family of every soldier."
