Rewards of paper money were announced for the grand defenders, the Imperial troops and civilian officials of Jiao-zhi. Officials of the first and second rank were each given 15 ding; officials of the third and fourth rank were each given 12 ding; officials of the fifth rank were each given 10 ding; officials of the sixth and seventh rank were each given eight ding; officials of the eighth rank, holders of sub-official posts and apprentice officials, were each given six ding; government troops and native troops were each given five ding; clerks, seal-keepers and assignees were given two ding and elders were each given one ding.
