On this day, the Ying-guo Duke Zhang Fu, regional commander of Jiao-zhi, defeated Ruan Shuai-gui, the remnant bandit follower in Dong-chao Subprefecture. Earlier, Shuai-gui had falsely proclaimed himself king and his false Jin-wu senior general Du Yuan-cuo had occupied Yi-yang Hamlet in An-lao County, Dong-chao Subprefecture. His force numbered over 20,000 men and at Jian Ding's behest, they regularly engaged in brigandry from Da-quan and other ports on the Huang River and the Ma-lao River. At this time, Fu surrounded Yi-yang Hamlet with his troops. The bandits put up stiff resistance, while the Imperial army attacked forcefully both on land and by water. The arrows and stones fell like rain, but finally the bandits were greatly defeated. Over 4,500 bandit heads were taken, while even more of the bandits drowned.
