The chieftain Tao-meng Mao-wai and others who had been sent by Han Lie-fa, the pacification superintendent of the Mu-bang Military and Civilian Pacification Superintendency in Yun-nan, offered tribute of elephants and horses, as well as utensils of gold and silver and other materials. They were rewarded with variegated silks and brocaded silken fabrics in accordance with the precedents.
