Zhang Tai, the Nan-jing Minister of Revenue, died. Tai (zi Shu-heng) had his origins in Shun-de County, Guang-dong....He was then appointed as regional inspector of Yun-nan. The Dian Lake was prone to flooding and he arranged the building of dykes extending for tens of li. The calamities gradually subsided. When the man chieftain Si Die rebelled, Tai put efforts into instructing him and thereby brought him to surrender....
