Zheng-tong: Year 1, Month 12, Day 14
20 Jan 1437
The chieftain Kun Lun and others from the Laos Military and Civilian Pacification Superintendency were provided with a gold warrant and escorted home. Previously, the Yun-nan regional commander Mu Sheng had sent people to escort Kun Lun and so on back. However, when they reached the border, they heard that the Laos native official had died and that the people were feuding with the country of Ba-bai. Thus, Sheng requested that the envoy be given a verification tally and be escorted back. The Auxiliary Minister of Rites Hu Ying and others advised: "The verification tallies incorporating new reign titles for Che-li and other offices in Yun-nan have now all been manufactured. It is requested that they be given to the envoy who has come to take back. He should also ensure that in future when these offices bring tribute of local products, they should also return the tallies presented in the previous reign. This was approved.
