The Jiao-zhi person Pan Tie-cheng memorialized: "I was a Jiao-zhi chieftain. During the Yong-le reign (1403-24), I came to allegiance and managed the food grain for the Embroidered-Uniform Guard. Now, it has been ordered that I be domiciled in Nan-jing. I have long been steeped in the Imperial influence and I will be unable to bear it if I am suddenly moved away from the sun in the firmament." The Emperor ordered that he be registered as domiciled in Shun-tian Prefecture.
