The Commissioner-in-chief of the Left Mu Ang, regional commander of Yun-nan, memorialized: "The bandit leader Lang Man and others attacked and harassed the border areas and occupied the La-sa mountain stockades. The official Wan Cheng, who is serving in order to realize achievements, and others, led troops in an attack, surrounding the bandits and subsequently taking the stockades. The bandit followers thereupon scattered and were pursued to Dian-wei, where another battle was fought. They were again defeated and Lang Man fled. Our army was then stationed at Dian-wei. After several days, the bandit together with over 1,000 followers occupied Mount Dong-suo. Subsequently, troops were advanced and attacked the forts, greatly defeating him. Over 300 heads were taken and 47 bandits, including Dao Men-qian were captured alive." The Emperor ordered that the heads of Dao Men-qian and the others be exposed in Dian-wei.
