Pu-da-la, Da-lu-jia and Mi-sha-la, all persons from the country of Java, had privately sailed in a ship to trade in the country of Siam, but were captured and sent fettered to the capital. Subsequently, Pu-da-la wounded Da-lu-jia with a knife, leading to the latter's death. The Ministry of Justice mistakenly thought that the dead man was Mi-sha-la and that Pu-da-la was Da-lu-jia. It punished him by sending him to be an elephant attendant. When the situation became known, the Minister Jin Lian and others submitted self-impeachments. The Emperor pardoned Lian and so on of the crime and ordered the Censorate to detain their subordinate officials and investigate them.
