The Qian-guo Duke Mu Bin, regional commander of Yun-nan, advised: "Si Ji-fa has sent a yi chieftain with 150 liang of silver as presents for myself and the eunuch director as well as for the military consultant and vice minister. We firmly refused the gifts, fearing that accepting them would give rise to doubts and concerns. These have been sealed and recorded and deposited in the government treasury." The Emperor ordered that the gifts be exchanged for grain to supply the government troops.
