The Messenger Li Xu was exiled as a soldier to Wei-yuan Guard. Initially Xu was a censor but was involved in corruption and cruelty. He was pardoned the death sentence and made a Messenger. He was then sent as envoy to Che-li in Yun-nan. After he returned, he was again involved in crimes....
