Zheng-tong: Year 4, Month 5, Day 3

It was ordered: that the Commissioner-in-Chief of the Right Mu Ang, grand defender of Yun-nan, be appointed as commissioner-in-chief of the left, take on the seal of "General for Subduing the South" and assume the post of regional commander; that the Commissioner-in-Chief of the Right Wu Liang assume the post of deputy regional commander; that the Assistant Commissioner-in-Chief Ma Xiang assume the post of assistant regional commander of the left; that the acting Assistant Commissioner-in-Chief Zhang Rong be substantively appointed as assistant commissioner-in-chief and assume the post of assistant regional commander of the right; and that they lead the government troops of the Yun-nan and other military commissions in proceeding on expedition to eliminate the rebellious bandit Si Ren-fa. As the Qian-guo Duke Mu Sheng had died, these orders, by which Ang replaced him, were issued at this time.
