The title patent read: "Recently, when the rebellious Lu-chuan bandit attacked the borders, you were able to carry out your grandmother's orders. You were determined and brave and personally led the militia in coordinating with the government troops, in taking the heads of bandit followers and in defeating and routing them. I am greatly pleased by this. Now, I am especially conferring my grace and am ordering that you be given an official fief and that a gold belt and brocaded fine silks be conferred upon you as rewards for your efforts.
