Imperial orders were sent to the Feng-cheng Marquis Li Xian, commandant of Nan-jing and Xu Qi, the grand adjutant and vice minister of the right in the Nan-jing Ministry of War. The orders read: "We should now reward the government troops from the Yun-nan Military Commission and other areas who realized achievements in the expedition to eliminate the rebellious bandit. They will require 80,400 guan of paper money, 158 bolts of thin silk and 458 bolts of cotton cloth. You should, together with the Eunuch Director Liu Ning and so on, arrange the issue of these goods from the Nan-jing Treasury. Then, together with Liu Yin, a secretary in the Ministry of Rites, who was formerly sent, you are to arrange horses and boats to transport these materials there for use as rewards. Do not allow delays or mistakes."
