On the occasion of the formal designating of the Imperial Heir Apparent, Qi Shun, a director in the Ministry of Revenue, and Yue Zhang, a director in the Ministry of Rites, were sent as chief envoys, while Zhang Jin, a vice director in the Messenger Office and Zhang Ting-gang, a Messenger, were sent as deputy envoys, to carry Imperial proclamations and to go to the countries of Korea and Annam to announce the appointment. They were also to confer on the kings of the countries and their consorts variegated silks and patterned brocades, as appropriate.
