Imperial orders were sent to the regional commander, grand defender, regional inspector and the officials of the three offices in Yun-nan, as well as to the regional commander, the grand defender and the supreme commander of Guang-dong/Guang-xi, requiring them to arrange tight border defence. This was ordered as Jiao-zhi and the Laos Pacification Superintendency were engaged in feuding and killing, and the officials were to guard against intrusions.
