It was ordered that the Eunuch Director Qian Neng, grand defender of Yun-nan, return to Nan-jing, and that he be replaced by the Eunuch Director Tan Ping, grand defender of Shaan-xi. While in Yun-nan, Neng had repeatedly induced border troubles and many of his actions had been illegal. At this time, he knew that his crimes were unpardonable and he thus claimed sickness and requested permission to return. The officials of the Offices of Scrutiny and the Censorate submitted a memorial advising of this. Accordingly this order was issued.
