Chen Jia-you, vice commissioner of the right in the Office of Transmission, died. Jia-you (zi Shi-yong) had his origins in Yu-yao County, Zhe-jiang....Not long after, Jia-you was sent as envoy to the country of Melaka to enfeoff the king. On the voyage they met great winds and the ship was damaged. However, they did not die and so returned. After repairing the ship they again proceeded there. On completion of the duties, he returned and was promoted to assistant transmission commissioner of the left... Not long after, he died at the age of 47....
