The country of Annam massed over 1,000 soldiers, erected palisades, dug ditches and occupied areas of Ping-xiang County in Guang-xi. The Censor-in-chief Han Yong, supervisor of military affairs, and others, advised of this. The Emperor ordered Yong to deliberate with the grand defender and regional commander and decide on plans, and to strictly supervise their subordinates in deploying the troops in defence.
