The Senior Grand Master Ruan Jian, the Ordinary Grand Master Mo Ji-long and the Junior Grand Master Li Yuan-pu, who had been sent by Chen Ri-jian, the king of the country of Annam, presented a memorial expressing gratitude for Imperial kindness and offered tribute of local products. Ruan Jian died at Nan-an. The Emperor conferred upon Ji-long cloth and silks as appropriate. Further, two bolts of silk gauze and two of fine silk gauze were conferred upon Ri-jian. Fifty liang of silver was provided for Ruan Jian's funeral costs and the appropriate office was ordered to escort the coffin back to his country.
