Jin Cheng, a person from Shun-tian Prefecture, petitioned the Court, saying: "I am already 80 years of age and have only one son. Formerly, for his achievements in defending cities, he was promoted to usher in the Court of State Ceremonial. Now, he has been promoted to magistrate of Si-rong County in Jiao-zhi. It is requested that he be appointed to a post nearby so that he can look after his father." The Emperor spoke to the Junior Preceptor and Minister of Personnel Jian Yi, saying: "This man is so sincere, we cannot refuse him." The request was thus approved.
